Through this document, Techniki Epexergasia Chartou S.A. expressly declares that it has read and understood the Terms of the Policy for Association with FSC, as published on www.fsc.org. This policy defines FSC’s position regarding unacceptable activities carried out by organizations and individuals that are already, or wish to become, associated with FSC, as well as the mechanisms for disassociation.
Techniki Epexergasia Chartou S.A. commits not to be directly or indirectly involved in the following unacceptable activities:
❖ Illegal logging or trade in illegal timber or forest products
❖ Violation of human rights in forestry operations
❖ Destruction of significant quantities in forestry operations
❖ Conversion of forest areas into plantations or non-forest land uses
❖ Introduction of genetically modified species or organisms in forestry operations
❖ Violation of the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
Techniki Epexergasia Chartou S.A. commits and declares, with regard to child labour, forced labour, discrimination in employment, freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, that:
❖ It does not employ workers under the age of 15.
❖ No worker under the age of 18 is employed in hazardous or heavy work, except for training purposes in accordance with approved national laws and regulations.
❖ It prohibits the worst forms of child labour.
❖ Employment relationships are voluntary and based on mutual consent, without the threat of penalties.
❖ It ensures that there is no discrimination and that equal employment and career development opportunities are provided to all employees.
❖ There is no evidence of forced or compulsory labour, including, but not limited to:
▪ Physical and sexual violence
▪ Forced labour
▪ Withholding of wages, social security contributions, bonuses and allowances
▪ Restriction of mobility / movement
▪ Withholding of passports and identification documents
▪ Threats of reporting employees to the Authorities
❖ Employees of Techniki Epexergasia Chartou S.A. may establish or join workers’ organizations of their choice.
❖ The company respects the right of employees to participate in lawful activities related to the establishment, participation in, or support of a workers’ organization, or to refrain from such activities, and will neither discriminate against nor penalize employees for exercising these rights.
❖ It negotiates in good faith with legally established workers’ organizations and/or duly selected representatives, making every reasonable effort to reach collective bargaining agreements.
❖ Collective agreements are implemented where applicable.
Techniki Epexergasia Chartou S.A. supports transaction verification carried out by the certification body and by the accreditation body, Accreditation Services International (ASI), by providing samples of materials and products, as well as information regarding the composition of items for verification upon request.
